STATUS: New for 2020 - The upheaval at Cadillac has seen many comings and goings, especially in the passenger-car group. Departures include the ATS coupe (the sedan was sent packing for 2019), CTS and XTS sedans and the CT6 sedan that is reportedly leaving in early 2020. In their place are the compact CT4 and midsize CT5 sedans. Although Cadillac officially refers to the CT5 as a compact car, it's actually larger than both the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in length, width and distance between the front and rear wheels. From a design standpoint, the CT5 earns big points for its taut shape, including a tall fastback roofline that should create plenty of head and legroom for rear-seat riders. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 237 horsepower and 258-pound-feet of torque. Optional is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 rated at 335 horses and 400 pound-feet. A sporty CT5-V model ups the output to 355 horsepower, but with no change in torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard and all-wheel-drive is optional for all. Four trim levels are offered.
