STATUS: Unchanged for 2020 - The Trax is Chevrolet's small wagon - the emphasis is on small - with space for five passengers, available all-wheel-drive and an aversion to the fuel pumps. Front seats are on the cozy side, but there's more shoulder room in back if you limit the rider count to two (there are seatbelts for three). With the rear 60:40 bench and front-passenger seat folded, there's space for plenty of bulky stuff, up to eight feet in length. A tall (for its size) roofline also helps with transporting bulky cargo and benefits taller riders. The standard engine is a 138-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder that's backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. Base models come with 10 airbags plus air conditioning, roof rack, deluxe seat covers and 16-inch aluminum wheels. From there, you can add a power sunroof, navigation system, 18-inch wheels and an extensive list of active-safety content to prevent collisions. The available AWD automatically engages when the roads become slippery or when the vehicle accelerates from a stop. A new 2021 Trax is expected to debut sometime in 2020.
