Ford EcoSportSTATUS: Unchanged for 2020 - The made-in-India EcoSport is Ford's tiny-utility entry that competes with the likes of the Chevrolet Trax, Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500X and Honda HR-V. The styling resembles that of a scaled-down Ford Edge, but instead of a liftgate, the EcoSport's rear door opens to the side. With a tall roof, the EcoSport provides an acceptable amount of head and knee room for rear-seat passengers, although they might have to pack light since stowage space in back is somewhat limited. In fact, the tiny tot has no room for a spare tire. For storing smaller items, the EcoSport has 30 different small bins. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder, or an optional non-turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Select the latter and all-wheel-drive is standard. Both engines are mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. With four available trim levels, the EcoSport can be customized to suit many budgets and tastes.
