STATUS: Unchanged for 2020 - The Edge brand has come a long way since its introduction more than a decade ago. What sets this midsize tall wagon apart is its sophisticated styling, a sporty suspension and plenty of stretch-out and cargo space for five riders. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is the base engine and a twin-turbocharged V-6 remains the sole option, but it's only for the sporty ST trim. The engines are connected to eight-speed automatic transmissions with paddle-shift controls. The available all-wheel-drive can direct up to 100 percent of the torque as needed to either the front or rear axles. A 3,500-pound maximum-trailer-weight rating means the Edge can also work (and play) hard. The interior has plenty of storage bins and cubbies plus an eight-inch touch-screen for the audio, infotainment and climate controls. The most basic of the Edge's four trim levels has plenty of comfort content. Beyond that, the assortment of active-safety technology includes a 180-degree front camera that scans for unseen cross-traffic at intersections.
