Ford Expedition
STATUS: New King Ranch trim for 2020 - For the vehicle's most recent update, designers crafted the eight-passenger big rig's body in aluminum, saving up to 300 pounds (depending on the model). They also created a better-looking tall wagon that rivals any of General Motors' similar-sized offerings. The Expedition is available in regular- and extended-length Expedition Max, allowing it to (dimensionally) go toe-to-toe with the Chevrolet Tahoe and extended-length Suburban duo, as well as their GMC counterparts. The standard engine is a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 providing 470 pound-feet of torque, although the Platinum Series gets 10 additional pound-feet. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the line. All-wheel-drive is optional, but the rear-wheel-drive model is needed to tow up to 9,300 pounds. There's generous room for two passengers up front, and for the second row you can choose a three-person bench seat or two high-backed chairs. For 2020, the new King Ranch model, "authentically inspired by the iconic Texas ranch," raises the style and luxury bar with such equipment as 22-inch wheels, premium-leather interior and "Stone Gray" exterior accents.Base price (incl. destination): $54,200
