Hyundai Sonata (New)
STATUS: New for 2020 - Hyundai obviously believes there's still plenty of life in the midsize-sedan bracket and intends to prove it with the eighth-generation Sonata. Although it casts a similar shadow to the 2019 version, the overall design is considerably more attractive, especially the sloping nose, wider grille and sweeping roofline that gives the car a stretched appearance. Powertrain choices include a 180-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder and an optional 191-horsepower non-turbo 2.5-liter four-cylinder. An eight-speed automatic transmission is linked to both. As of this writing, there's no word regarding a hybrid version of the Sonata, but there's little doubt one will be introduced either for 2020 or 2021.
