Jaguar F-Pace
STATUS: Unchanged for 2020 - One look at the F-Pace confirms that Jaguar designed this midsize wagon to appeal as much to the heart as to the head. There's less room inside than in competing Mercedes-Benz GLC, but more than you'll find in the Cadillac XT5 or Porsche Macan. Passenger accommodations are spacious enough for up to five occupants. The base engine is a 247-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, while a 296-horsepower version is optional. A 380-horsepower supercharged V-6 is also available. A limited-edition SVR comes with a brute-force 550-horsepower supercharged V-8. Each engine is fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. In normal conditions, the standard all-wheel-drive directs 100 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels. When tire slip is detected, half the power is diverted to the front wheels. During cornering, the system also applies braking to the inside rear wheel (torque vectoring) for more controlled and precise steering.
